What to Expect
What are your worship services like?
We currently offer one in-person services at 10:45am. The service is also live-streamed to our Facebook Page and Vimeo channel.
The best way to enter the building is through the double glass doors, located on Stewart Avenue.
Our service follows the liturgy out of the Evangelical Lutheran Worship Hymnal (ELW).
The music of the service alternates between traditional and contemporary worship each week.
On contemporary worship Sundays (the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month), our praise team leads the music of the service.
On traditional Sundays (2nd, 4th, & 5th Sundays), we sing hymns from the ELW led by our organist.
Every Sunday, we offer a relaxed atmosphere where everyone is welcome, regardless of age, race, sexuality, gender, or marital status. There is a place for you here.
What should i wear?
At Stewart Avenue, you will find people dressed in various ways for worship. You will likely see people wearing everything from a suit and tie to jeans and their best Steelers jersey! The bottom line is, we want you to be comfortable as you are here. No matter how you show up, we’ll be glad to see you!
Holy Communion
We celebrate Holy Communion every Sunday. We welcome all to the table to receive Communion. It doesn’t matter if you are Lutheran, or haven’t been to church in years. We believe that the Lord’s Table is open to all people with no exceptions! We also celebrate Communion with gluten-free crackers, so that everyone can receive the same elements!
We typically offer a First Communion class for our young people when they are in 5th grade, with classes offered in October. However, if your child has already received their First Communion, they are more than welcome to continue receiving it!
If you have never received communion before or are uncomfortable doing so, you are more than welcome to come forward for a blessing.
If you are interested in taking Communion, but would like to know more about it first, feel free to talk with Pastor Beth!
How do i join?
We hope that you truly feel welcomed and at home at Stewart Avenue! If you would like to become a member here, get in touch with Pastor Beth!
Our current mask policy is that while they are optional, we strongly encourage that you wear your mask while you are in the church building, even if you are vaccinated. We do ask that everyone be respectful of the choices that each individual and family makes for themselves. If someone chooses to continue wearing a mask or shows clear signs that they would like to continue keeping a physical distance from others, please respect their boundaries.
