Dorcas Circle is Stewart Avenue’s Evangelical Lutheran Churches (SAELC) Women’s Organization. The beauty and majesty of God’s grace is that it continually seeks us out amid the busy time in each of our lives. Because one has experienced God’s grace, a new life becomes a reality. Everything takes on a new meaning. The friendly women of Dorcas Circle cordially invite all women (and a friend) to join us. Who are we and what do we do?

Dorcas Circle shares time, talent and money with SAELC and the community in outreach.

We meet at 9:00 a.m. for a light breakfast on the second Tuesday of every month September through June in the Social Room of SAELC.

A brief business meeting follows the breakfast.

Following the business meeting, Bible studies take place covering a variety of subjects.

Dorcas Circle has maintained a prayer chain for many years whereby members only need to ask for activation when a crisis occurs.

Dorcas Circle collects old eyeglasses, used stamps and items for healthcare kits sent to foreign countries.

You may participate in any or all of the activities offered by the friendly women of Dorcas Circle. It is your choice. Getting to know us comes easily. Try Dorcas Circle - you just might like us! For more information contact the church secretary.

Food Pantry was founded in May 1982 and is affiliated with the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank and member of the South Hills Food Pantry Network. The Food Pantry distributes food orders monthly to families in the Carrick and Brentwood geographical area. SAELC members volunteer to coordinate this service. For more information contact the church office or the Hunger Services.

Vacation Bible School is held the fourth week of July from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and is open to the community at large. The program offers a light supper, bible study, crafts, music and fellowship. A closing program held on the last night of the program is open to parents and friends followed with a cookie and punch fellowship reception. For more information contact the church secretary.
