Home Nursery:
Children are accepted into the congregation at Baptism. Following Baptism, children are entered into the Home Nursery from birth until two years of age whereby contact with newly baptized members is maintained via a monthly Newsletter. At two years of age, children are encouraged to attend Sunday School.

Sunday School: (9:30 – 10:30 Sunday September through May)
Sunday School classes are offered to children from 2 through 18 years of age. This includes an opening music and worship session, classroom lessons and intergenerational events. A Youth choir is a part of the Sunday School program for children of all ages.

  • First Holy Communion is offered to children in the fifth grade. Children receive instruction regarding the Lutheran Church teachings in preparation for communion. Fifth graders receive their First Holy Communion on Reformation Sunday

  • Confirmation is offered to children in the seventh grade and concludes in the eighth grade. Weekly instruction, apart from Sunday School, focuses on Luther’s Small Catechism, the Ten Commandments, the Apostles’ Creed, The Lord’s Prayer, The Sacrament of Holy Baptism and the Sacrament of Holy Communion. A weekend retreat is a part of the Confirmation program. Confirmands are expected to attend Church and Sunday School on a regular basis. The Rite of Confirmation is then bestowed on eighth graders on Pentecost Sunday.
  • Youth Group:
    Senior Youth – 6th grade through 12th grade – meets first Sunday monthly from September until June from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. to plan fellowship and outreach activities. Among the many things planned by senior youth is a trip to the Lutheran Convention held every three years in one of three U.S. cities.

    STEW NEWS

    Junior Youth – kindergarten through 5th grade – meets first Sunday monthly from September until June 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Various activities are planned for the junior youth. One popular activity is the Black and White night. Dressing in black and white for a night of games, ice cream (chocolate and vanilla only) and more games is planned.

    Other events planned by the youth groups include:

    Ice Skating, Snow Tubing & Bowling 30 hour Famine to raise money for hunger
    Christmas Caroling Helping with food pantry
    Black & White Night Mission Week
    Camping and Biking Prepare and serve food for various groups such as Church Council, Food Pantry Volunteers, Veterans, etc.
    Dances Make crafts for nursing home residents

    Eight Faith Factors

  • Adult Study: (9:30 – 10:30 a.m. September through May)
    Adult bible classes are offered weekly to establish a foundation that Jesus Christ is Lord, to increase knowledge, “My people perish for lack of knowledge,” Hosea 4V6, to stimulate thinking, awaken spiritual perception and to bear good fruit.

  • Special bible study programs are offered to meet congregational needs.

    New Members’ Classes are held as needed. New member classes vary in length and are conducted by Pastor. People join the church by publicly reaffirming their faith. Call the Church office for more information regarding new members’ classes.
